Agree and competition helps the consumer and no doubt the V8 is back in the Raptor. The original Raptor was a V8.
Full disclaimer: I don't like Furds or Ecoboost engines.

But, from a functional standpoint they would do well by keeping the lighter V6. It's hard to make a 4-point landing with a heavier V8 up front.

Agree and competition helps the consumer and no doubt the V8 is back in the Raptor. The original Raptor was a V8. The tests showed the last v8 was slower than the new v6 turbo. That’s the only reaso they went with the V6 and now we know the Predator motor is available and the Godzilla as well.
Hopefully it is. I have a family member that is a huge Ford truck guy. He has had mostly diesels, but awhile back decided to try out a Raptor (older one with the 5.0). He knew about the V6 turbo, and didn't want anything to do with it, despite it being faster on paper. Something about a V6 turbo in a truck, just doesn't sound right imo. He just recently had his fill of a the Raptor though and is back in a diesel yet again. 2020 F250.

Anyway I'm routing for Ford to challenge Ram, so hopefully C&D (and you) are correct on them challenging the TRX.

RAM better move fast.

Ford is still riding high with the new F150.
The GT500 is the only car using that motor so its likely it will find a home in something else.

This makes me think the Demon/RE TRX will be in the pipeline waiting to drop a year after the initial TRX is out.

FCA does one thing right, win the power game.

Brand protection.... as noted elsewhere. In case the thing tanks overall. I can see the reasoning. You're close to taking the special out of the motor. But leaving the hellcat emblem on the motor? Come on. More of that Dodge "wait, we didn't think all this through"

Also no SRT badges anywhere either. Yet how many times was SRT engineering referenced in the reveal?

If i remember correctly, the Hellcat name was the name of the engine program. Then they stuck it on the car after. Its a hellcat and im sure there will be a few people who put the cat badge on their trucks.

People put those badges on all kinds of stuff. But that doesn't make it right.
That Ram keeps that part low key almost makes me want one.
