It's a shame that Ford has never put their Shelby motors in anything else...
Sure, they're not "watering down the brand" but I believe they're also losing potential buyers.

Definitely does not sound like a V8 to me. Way too tame, at idle and take off. Not the best audio clip by far, but the spy videos of the TRX were much more obvious imo.
The Raptor is getting the V8 motor and sure video doesn't sound like the V8. The Godzilla motor which I have in my Tremor is such a damn nice motor and yeah maybe they just go Godzilla and up her a little bit into the 550-600 and that would be awesome IMO.

Ford May stay a little conservative on the V8 and not try to match the TRX since the V6 twin turbo which I have gets down the road plenty fast. And I have the 2020 Explorer ST package with the V6 twin turbo and she gets down the road extremely well. And I could have picked up the Jeep Trackhawk many times but just could not justify the price and the gas mileage. At the end of the day a Raptor with 550-600 HP would be really sweet and would be ok for me. And for me the ride, feel, creature comforts and looks help with the happy factor as well.

From what I've read from other Raptor owners is a complaint about the "cam phaser" on the 3.5V6 the raptor has. Sounds like it's been a problem for awhile and caused some big recall stuff with Ford. So lots of Raptor guys are wanting a V8 back again.

I only care about fuel mileage with my daily which gets 37.5mpg average (19' Toyota Rav4 Hybrid). While I want the TRX to do best it can, I'm guessing it will be pretty awful lol. That's okay because I won't drive it quite as much.

Yeah my guess is 10-12 mpg LOL. My Tremor is 12 MPG 10mph and or 80-90MPH and includes HWY, City back roads etc. And my Raptor is 16-18 mpg and I have gotten her to 106mph and then thats it LOL

The Jeep gets 12- plus so I figure she will be 10 plus and yeah no doubt if your into her all the time possible single digits and honesty if she is a single digit MPG than I have to pass. Every time I drive I go 150-200 miles and that will be too radical for me to justify. And I thought the half ton trucks had to show EPA on the window sticker. Has Ram posted MPG on the web site and I have never looked.

How do you like the ST? My wife was looking at a three-row and after ready the specs I'm really considering one. I've read on the Explorer ST forums that there were quite a few buy backs which has me worried.

So I built a TRX with similar options to my 2020 Raptor (PDF attached). I skipped the moon roof (hardly use it on the Raptor) and skipped the trailer backup assist (what an ass pain, only used it once and said never again).

To me it comes down to this: Is the TRX $20,000 better than my Raptor? Honestly, I don’t know. The Hellcat Motor is going to be a lot of fun, but I can have a lot of fun for $20,000. My hope is that by 2022 we can get the TRX at a discounted price like the current Hellcat Lineup. Something along Power Dollar Deals is the only way I can see myself affording the TRX.

I wouldn't be so sure (though i do agree it rasps). But I would think even in mule form you might leave the exhaust "untuned" or what have you to throw folks off (same as the dazzle camo schemes). I was intrigued to see the under body stuff hanging down.

What is the trailer backing assist thing? Please explain your dis-satisfaction with it, if you would.

Wait, that Jeep pick up gets 12+ MPG?

I don’t think Godzilla will be making it into any performance vehicles, ever.

Basically the system doesn’t respond how I want it to. It’s too slow.

I'm going to add it to my TRX (if I proceed tomorrow with my build), it's only a $500 option. So it's worth getting once to see if I like it. I kept my build cheapish. I added some stuff like bead lock wheels, then noticed the description says "beadlock capable". Doesn't seem like real beadlocks to me.

I also read somewhere online that the Raptor requires markers of sorts to use the trailer back up assist. The Ram doesn't need the markers.

Isn't the 3.5TT in the GT 650hp? Why not just up that hp for the next gen?

Id be surprised that the 7.3 found its way into any F150. Just like the 392/6.4 isn't available in the Ram 1500s

Not from the factory. I plan on snagging one out of the junk yard in a few years. A cam and some heads or porting the stockers i bet would result in a monster of a motor to stick into a hot rod with a close ratio 5/6 speed
