Must be a scientific machine.
Far from it. It's a basic Kubota M6040. Besides, almost all vehicles and machinery I own has speedometers.

At this point, the only one I can think of that doesn't is the skid steer. Then again, it has enough electronics that it wouldn't surprise me if there's a speedo, too, somewhere in the system.

Never realized that they were that detailed.

the Classic is the 4th gen starting in 2010, they continue to offer it. The "Ram 1500" is the 5th gen, there are mechanical differences, I don't know the details.
So just wondering...why did you order one:unsure:

Large tractors run on GPS these days, making exact and most efficient passes over the fields.

Well, that's the speed it goes in 3rd gear, low range, when the PTO turns 540 rpm. Which it should be.
Knowing that it's 2.37 mph is as easy as looking at the dash.
Mine has a big decal with all the speeds for the various tire sizes and each of the 8 gears. Since I can't figure which tire size matches my tires (not like I really tried very hard) I have never have any idea how fast I am going. Going fast on the tractor can result in a life altering experience, especially downhill with no front brakes!

I am concerned about the availability of V8's in 1/2tons and want to get one before they are regulated out. Seems most people who buy 1/2tons are happy with a V6. That would not be me. I need only one more truck in my life and this seems like the right time, especially since I got 5% under invoice plus $1k Dodge discount plus whatever other regular incentives available when it gets here, currently another $2k.

I only need to plow my driveway, your comment on plowing with the Snowdogg is very helpful, I will check them out, there is a dealer about 20mi from here.

The plow prep forces you into the 3.92 diff, possibly (hopefully) to avoid the probs you mentioned.

Your success with the Snowdogg has given me confidence, I hope that if SnowDogg can make a plow that works well, hopefully Fisher can also (by this time!).

I believe your Limited is the same DT as the Big Horn (i.e. non-Classic) so I hope I will have the same success as you. Thanks.

Do you keep the mount on year 'round? Do you have any noticeable loss of ground clearance?

Mine has a decal with the actual speeds for each of the eight standard gears, for some reason. Of course, I installed crawler gears to keep the life altering moments to a minimum.

I (try to remember to) use 4WD when either lifting something heavy with the loader, or going downhill.

You're in luck! Supposedly they'll make the TRX in '23, too.

You're asking the wrong person when it comes to towing anything with a 1500.

Towing is why the 3500/4500/5500 ones exist. My girlfriend had a diesel 2500, but is much happier with her current 3500 longbed gasser. And she only has a 3-horse trailer.

Do they even make gooseneck hitches for 1500s? I hope not.

Not from the factory, they 2500 offers it. I was tempted but really don't need the 3/4.

You'll get maybe a 200 lb. higher payload with a 2500, so they're basically interchangeable in that sense. And whether with standard rear coils or air suspension, they ride nicely.

Obviously I was kidding about not towing anything with a 1500, by the way. I wouldn't hesitate to pull a jet ski, for example, or at least the title for a real trailer.

Anyway, you want a pickup that'll last you, and you want to plow with it. That really should be a 2500 then, unless one out of two is close enough.

The price is crazy in my opinion and we're happy with what we have.

There's a world of difference between the 1500 and 2500 trucks. You're going from a car like experience to a more truck experience. My 1500 had the 3.92 gears with posi for towing plus the etorque and HD towing package. It was rated for 10, 800 lbs but it would never handle it.
