Sorry my friend. In that regard getting more senior sucks! 30” should help, but like is said above you will need lots of room to use that sucker. I am like you, last week simply installing chains requires a couple of my favorite pliers because my left hand has suffered from a couple of nerve problems and just does not have the strength it should. Sometimes life in the garage is a constant “work around”. Good luck.
While not falling apart...It's becoming a bit disconcerting not being able to do the things that I found routine just a few years ago...now that I'm retired..getting back to the gym..(haven't been there in over 10 years) is on the list to slow the inevitable maturation process..

Have you considered getting a torque multiplier?

The one I ordered the other day has a 64:1 ratio, but you probably don't need a 5,000 lb. capacity. There are compact ones with 3:1 gearing.

That is one of the only things to do. Hard as hell, but I am also doing just that. If we do not? I have seen my fellow 70 yr olds. Not good at all. Tomorrow I go see the ace surgeon who did my right shoulder. The left one is going down. That went so well a few years ago, I got no choice but to try one more artificial joint and pray it is as good as the others I have implanted.

I went to Lowes, the 30" is the package length, the actual wrench is 27", and square to handle center is about 23.5". I passed.

Came home, got a 15% off HF coupon so I figured I'd get the 24" Quinn. Then this popped up, looks pretty cool, it would eliminate the need for the extension, I could use my breaker bar with the tube extension. Anyone ever try one?

Good idea but the ones I have seen are not cheap, like me...

I’ve got one and was about to suggest it as an alternative. I used mine to check and calibrate my cheap torque wrenches. Haven’t used it to tighten lug nuts directly. Supposedly very accurate.

I'll pick one up tomorrow. I have a beam torque wrench I use for calibration. Lot of cold lousy days coming up, I'll have time for it!

I got a Craftsman version a long time ago, but didn't really care for it.

Then again, back then my 250 ft.-lb. torque wrench did everything I needed it to do. These days I'm only looking at 1,500 ft.-lbs. and up.

That one should work in your case, I'd think.

Just watched a vid that makes it look really good, long and boring though.

I had the 1st Gen, too. It sucked. It used button batteries that required removing 4 tiny screws to access. Worse, the batteries went dead in a few days even if it wasn’t used. A real POS.

Gen 2 is just fine, regular easy access batteries.

Thank God all my joints are OEM....It's just the loss of some range of motion..or little things like holding on to the railings up and down stairs...and getting up off my knees has become a chore...

I am one lucky and blessed dude. Four replaced joints and everyone of them is still like new, 100% OR MORE expected ROM, and absolutely not a problem with any of it. I fired two shoulder surgeons prior to allowing the great doc I have to put in the right one. He was the only and first one to have no restrictions on like bench presses and working out.:p That thing and my two knees/one hip are quite unbelievable. Ha! Ever get the flu bad with joints hurting? It is so strange, it has been a couple of times, but you lay there and grin. The replacement parts never hurt!

If it’s just for lugs, go with the longest you can find and tighten with your foot. Nothing will be easier than that. Same goes for the breaker bar.
I started to consider a longer bar for myself when my 95lb kid couldn’t torque the wheels on my truck. It’s cheaper just to make him eat his supper and bulk up.

Interesting. What requires a torque wrench over 1,500 ft-lbs.?

Not since 2021 here when I got my one case of the now famous Chinese flu. They call it something original and even gave others who are liberal/dumb sheep or unfortunately were forced to take it bullshit fake shots of some sort that did not work.

I remember once or twice in the past 15 years, I got a “flu” (again they can stick their shots into their own asses) but it was funny. My joints? They say I can thank either my Mom or Dad along with the wear and tear I have done with 55 years of snow skiing. That is why 3/4 of those joints are replaced ( 2 knees - five ops to repair b4 the new units and one hip) are wonderful. The shoulder? My fault. Been lifting since 17 yr old. He said the dips, heavy bench presses (trained with 225 and always thought a few 305’s was cute), and lateral raises - front and side higher than shoulder height did it.
