And so the sacrifice at ICE begins for the EVs. I wouldn’t buy a Jeep for anything after reading this what a DISGRACE.

Auto maker says it will idle the 1,350-employee plant in February, resulting in ‘indefinite layoffs’
Jeep maker Stellantis STLA -2.70%decrease; red down pointing triangle NV said it would stop operations at a 1,350-employee assembly plant in Illinois, citing the need to control costs in the face of supply-chain disruptions and high expenses associated with moving to electric vehicles.

The Netherlands-based global auto maker said Friday that its factory in Belvidere, Ill., which makes the Jeep Cherokee sport-utility vehicle, would be idled effective Feb. 28 and result in indefinite layoffs. The company said it is looking at different uses for the plant and would try to place laid-off employees in full-time positions elsewhere.

Stellantis said the company and industry have been hurt by the semiconductor shortage and Covid-19-related disruptions. “But the most impactful challenge is the increasing cost related to the electrification of the automotive market,” the company said.

Good Saturday morning😎
The Elon Musk files are active and definitely disturbing. The Left is now going after Elon to convince their followers he’s now the problem. But yet they can’t see how the party they support is actually the whole problem🙃🙃🙃
Gavin Newsome is moving forward to be the first state to pay reparations to 2 million plus blacks. It’s still in its final stages but 223k per avg person and 519 billion on the tax payers bill. Who the hell feels good living in California? Gasoline is more not only from higher state tax but because of the 102 year old maritime Jones Act. Only select certified tankers can bring oil to the California ports which in turn they charge the highest shipping fees. I wonder how much the average person pays more in state and economic expenses to live their🤔
The Holidays are here and wow another year has passed us beyond believable. It’s hard to believe the Hellcat reveal will be a decade ago in 2024 which ain’t far away and the Hellcat will be dead as we know it. And for some here we met on another site close to 8 years ago wow. Tine keeps ticking away and damn talk about the change of times we are witnessing to the worst not the better. The Social Media machine for sure has destroyed this country and Elon is proving this. The brainwashing all time high like never seen as we see today a country on a path of division more than ever. But the lying media machine ain’t gonna talk about it to support the worst ever guy in Diapers and Depends. Lowest rating idiot but yet has 70 percent support by the dumb asses. And we all know the good ain’t coming under this pacifier boy but the worst will slowly play out. The Frogs that support this style governing are in the Boiling Water Pot happily plodding around feeling no pain til yeh we know. It’s all about family and I’m heading to Fl for the rest of the year to visit and take care of family. Loading up today for the one day drive Sunday. Hope everyone has a blessed day.

Investors agree with us. This was a company worth a lot more a year ago, before they became entirely stupid. Hey, Stellantis!!! Stupid dicks and dickless ones, tell us again about why your buying into the communist/socialist direction of EV when the power don’t exist to even run them? No wonder your stock price sucks! Nobody is planning on buying your future shit, or willing to buy your stock because they agree with us! You suck!!!

Yes we are living in a Dream being pushed by the Dreamers the Green Agenda to the max. It’s the minority brainwashing the select few to make many think it’s true. I talk about this in my YouTube videos called Dreams.

I have to find this out on the Hellcat forum!?? They are keeping this very quiet around here!

But hey yeah...

Batteries GOOD!!!

ICE BAD!!!

When are people going to freakin wake up? There is no advantage to battery that is worth the cost and destruction that EVs are causing!
Both to the planet and people!!

I wonder what all these car companies and states who have gone all in on EVs, will do if/when the EV craze comes crashing down on their heads in maybe 5 years? Id hope they have a backup ICE plan. China may not be long for this world and whether or not the current commies hang on to power is debateable but one thing is for certain, they have the most rapidly aging population on the planet WITHOUT a replacement waiting in the wings. Labor costs are moving up rapidly, productivity of their workers are declining rapidly and there are no more cheap solutions coming from there. They can print all the $$ they want but its stillgoing to be increasingly more difficult for them to continue to exploit/rape Africa and South America for minerals and materials and get it back to the homeland to manufacture these batteries etc. EVs are going to move ever higher in price shutting out most in the market. Will we have more govt subsidies? bailouts?
Lithium Ion batteries are not the answer, if they dont have some uber forward looking tech answer to the battery problem we dont yet see, that will compound things. Not to mention the shitty grid issues and electricity skyrocketing because of increased use and increasing govt regulations eliminating cheap and easy sources of electricity. its a shit show

Last line says it all "increased cost of evs" when you have a winner with challengers and chargers but decide to lose money on evs:mad:

And yet, if you read the story and not just the headline or tagline, Cherokee sales went from 120,000 in 2020 to 90,000 in 2021 and less than 40,000 in 2022. Seems like that would have to more to do with it than anything and, while I'm not a fan of EVs, their EV story is just cover.

It's my hometown area.
That plant was 3k strong a few years ago. Many bigger FCA suppliers built factories here to support that assembly.
But the tone from the town hall meeting was - we can't close the place because of the contract but we like the savings from not having to run this plant full time.

The COVID sham allowed manufacturers to shut down plants and not violate their contract. The union workers got fucked over. And now as this contract is nearing an end, they are getting "idled" until sometime in 2024.

It really sucks for this area as it is one of the major employers in an area that has seen slow decline over the last 25 years. I expect this will really ramp up now.
The population isn't that educated. Major employers won't come here because of that, and others are leaving the state due to Governor fat fuck's policies. And he was just reelected to boot.

CAT is leaving Illinois.
The biggest finance firm in Chicago is gone. Many others are picking up as well.

Pisses me off and I'm not even directly impacted by it.

When COVID hit, that plant shut down immediately. Then was very slow to come back online.
Then the chip shortage.
Again, shut down immediately and would open briefly for a few weeks at a time.

Sales were not there because production was killed to save parts for higher margin products like Wranglers or TRX's. Got my TRX in Feb 21 and my Mojave in Jun 21. TRX was ordered day 1 of the reveal but the Jeep took 6 weeks to get.

During those 6 weeks, the Belvidere plant was up for 2 weeks or so if I remember correctly. Hard to sell cars that don't exist.
Stellantis had record profits off the back of the Wranglers in 2021. They can do that when you cut expenses by shutting down plants with "chip shortage" and side step that expensive union contract.
