I'm giving the TRX serious thought, especially considering we don't know how long the Hellcat will be around. Until then, my Raptor will have to get me through things.

The one thing that does give me pause with the TRX is the AWD System.

Does anybody have any knowledge on how the Trackhawk is holding up? I think the system is fairly similar in design.

Huh what I didn’t read that on her. Your saying she is always 4 wheel and not rear wheel capability?

That's correct. But at least it has Launch Control! [twothumb]

In the second video where they are just flogging it on a country road is exactly what I plan on doing.

Its also in the same area I live in.

Well...a few surprises on the Raptor launch. Engine...oh no, Ford didn't go there. Suspension, wheels & tires...cool. Big screen...check..., option for Rigid lights in bumper (added those cubes to mine when I had it...good news), "trombone" exhaust, say what? No more shorty cab...darn. No power numbers. No pricing yet.

Raptor R maybe next year, damn man , gotta wait to see if it happens. Was hoping for epic TRX vs V8 Raptor battles.

Fairly short and informative from Carlos Lago

Raiti...I know he elicits some dislike.

The way I look at it, Ford did some good things with the new Raptor. I don't think it's enough to make a lot of 2nd Gen owners jump to the new platform, but potential customers will like some of the changes. I don't see anything that makes me want to buy a new Raptor right now.

With that said, I'm really starting to get the TRX itch. Anybody want to buy a gently used 2nd Gen Raptor from me? Truck will turn 9,000 miles shortly. [biggrin]

The used car market is hot just search for your Truck in the used market. I just traded in my 2017 F450 just for this reason. And purchased a new one and maybe you know this but they are not building current Generation Raptor anymore. In my area there are no new current Raptors available. Anyone wanting a new one has to wait for the refresh model.

I‘ve thought about the used market for the Raptor being hot. I even have the color for the TRX picked out. [biggrin]

Not even close. Guess you haven't looked under a Trackhawk.

Yes, both are AWD systems, but that's about where the similarities end. The transfer case is about three times larger (by volume) than a 'Hawk's, and has low range. The front diff is roughly the same size as the rear one on the 'Hawk. The front axle shafts are larger in diameter than the rears on the Jeep.

I could keep going, but I'm sure you get the idea.

I barely looked under my own TRX.
I remember reading during the development of the TRX that it was utilizing the Trackhawk system but going to beef it up for the more off road beating.

Looks to me like the shifter could be the same, but nothing underneath (except the transmission) is even remotely close.
Maybe by "Trackhawk system" they meant being able to change the drive modes?

One of the issues that brought me over to the TRX was the new GEN3 Raptor with the 37 Package forces you into a Blue Interior. Many folks on the Ford Raptor Forum are upset with this anomoly. I really thought the 37" tire setup with modified Fox shocks was nice. Outside of that package the Interior update and same HP/Torque Numbers made the decision easy.
