Sure, but many things in life are unpredictable. For me it's easier to predict if traction will be compromised (and what the car will do) than if there's elk on the road around the corner, or if there will be oncoming traffic when passing someone.

I'm not willing to limit my driving to summer afternoons just to have more predictable traction.
WTF Jimmie....are you insinuating I'm a PUSSY..;)

Do you use a float charger?
Uh, oh, get your Harbor Freight coupons ready, folks.

Personally I'd also buy a good fire extinguisher, even though 2nd has lucked out so far..

I'm pretty sure I've already given him crap about those cheesy maintainers (that don't even have desulfation), so it's really more of a reminder for him. And a public service announcement for the rest of you.

With all due respect Jimmy..... If you have any evidence what-so-ever of a HF charger damaging anything, please let me know, I want to know. If they are defective/dangerous, I would like to know. But for the decade I have been using them, no on has.

For the record, I have been using these cheapies for over 10y and the only problem I had was one died. I have 5 running right now. Haven't replaced a battery since I started using them. If someone wants to pay more, that is fine with me, I never criticized anyone for that.

This is the battery in my tractor, you have all seen this:

I know, I know. It's not that yours don't work for you, but for one, they don't work as well as a good maintainer does.

More importantly, to me anything electrical from HF is scary, and I have several smoked angle grinders to back that statement up. I do have multimeters from HF, but they aren't connected to 110 V.

As you know, I'm a firm believer in desulfation, having used BatteryMINDer, PulseTech, and Canadus products for decades. So even if your HF units are working and haven't caught on fire yet, they are still lacking that important feature.

Come to think of it, maybe I should send you one of my BatteryMINDers so you'll have a better chance of your Kubota battery (and those are very good batteries) last as long as my oldest one has?

Harbor freight makes junk. You get what you pay for.

In all fairness, their sledge hammers are both cheap and dependable. I have quite a few of those.
