Are there Government subsidies involved in Reservation gas?

No subsidies...the State of NY has a strained relationship with the Seneca Nation...because of the laws regarding gaming in NY (which would take a Legislative referendum which could take up to 7yrs with no guarantee of passage) the state entered into a contract with the Senecas to operate Casinos in NY..a revenue sharing contract recently expired (an unbelievable oversight by the state) allowing the Senecas to operate with no contribution to the state...(costing the state hundreds of millions of dollars annually)..years ago in an attempt to gain lost tax revenue on cigarette sales..the state pre taxed cigarette sales to the Senecas through the wholesalers ...this initiative was approved in Federal court...The Senecas responded by manufacturing their own cigarettes on the reservation...non Fed and State tax gasoline sales were never intended for non reservation residents...last year the Gov of NY refused to make repairs of the stretch of the NYS thruway that runs through the reservation... The state has never dealt fairly with the Seneca Nation...but the contractual oversight that the state is faced with means the Senecas have our Gov by the short hairs for now... but the only advantage the Senecas have is...they are exempt from fed and state tax on gasoline

As unbelievable as this may sound at age 61 my maternal grandmother was still alive...she passed away peacefully just 3 wks before her 109 birthday...she made the cover of the Buffalo evening news two years in a row...At 107 she took a trip with family to NYC to have an audience with Joel Osteen..(her favorite)..never needed a walker...she was an amazing woman...my paternal grandmother was also a centurian...she passed away at 103...THEY BOTH BELIEVED IN THE POWER OF PRAYER..Ive led a charmed life..with the guidance of an amazing extended family

I think...at least in my area, all the reservations are exempt from federal taxes. Not sure about local taxes. Normally booze, smokes and gas are cheaper there.

High test (which is all I run in supercharged truck and car) is 2.85 in Nassau County ,L.I. Don't know what they're paying east of me in Suffolk County at @Old Mopar Guy .

Indians (1/4 to full blood) are exempt from federal taxes also.

As a life long resident of NYS..I have experienced the almost criminal nature of the states taxation initiatives...but this has me really scratching my head...The price of gasoline at the pump in the WNY region varies from 2.43 to to 2.21 for regular...take a short trip south to the Seneca Nation reservation...(28 miles due south)...the price today was.99 cents a gallon....travel south another 40 to Salamanca NY..the reservation price is .68 cents a gallon...oil and taxation experts chime in...make me understand the madness

My understanding is the reservations (as technically autonomous first nations) can tax however they like. But taxation alone is not going to result in a difference like that. that's different distributors, possibly different refiners even, and different supply contracts possibly negotiated as a group for additional buying power.

Here in Houston , yesterday I paid $2.05 for premium for the HC & regular was $1.50

I don't know this for sure but I would guess that every state that is democratic ran has more taxes with less done & more waste. Those are the same states that are against guns too. Always wanting more in the name of saving you because they know what is best for you more than you do.

If the price of crude shot up overnight ….regardless of whats in the tank...the're gonna raise the price at the pump...they get you on the way up...and the way down...

California is very high. There are a few of those convenient stores that sell gas for cheap but usually don't buy that stuff. If I drive inland a bit the price would drop a little.

I was in north CA 2 years ago. Gas in CA was $1.05 higher than in OR where they pumped the fuel. Not sure what 93oct is in IL I refuse to buy it here since they raised the Tax .20 last year, but I paid $1.99 in WI. reg was $1.59 last week. Just like in NY last one out turn the lights off. I just hope the people that phucked up NY( New England),IL.CA. WA. stay in those states. They are on their way to messing up CO. ID. MT. I hope they stay out of KY as well. From what my kid that lives in LA is that it seems like there is Zip code pricing going on,said the fuel was cheaper in the hood.

As far as CO goes, they're not "on their way". They were some 15 -20 years ago, but have conquered that state some time ago.
