Why don't you think E85? Dodge has flex fuel vehicles for sale today don't they? Ford and Chevy have flex fuel vehicles as well. Seems like a no brainer.

I don’t know. I’m kinda leaning @1971demon ‘s way that they’re not going to do much of anything. I’ll have to see it to believe it. Guess we’ll see. I’d like to believe it’ll be one hell of a going away party but even if it is, as many have mentioned , it’ll be so limited and expensive that you’ll never see these around. So what’s the point of making it other than the hype?

Maybe they didn't offer it for 2022 but they did at one time. 3.6L Challenger was FF as well as Ram 1500. Maybe they stopped producing them when the cafe credits went away for flex fuel vehicles or something?

You caught my eye 3.6 Challenger FF

We all know E-85 can be used as race fuel especially with a Supercharger.

This is why I am asking about the HP of the Dodge Flex fuel vehicles.

I don't think they published Separate horsepower numbers on flex fuel. But that's actually a great question because the Dodge caravan flex fuel tune I referenced had a boat load more timing in the alcohol table.

Well, yes that is correct but they were integrated, so they are around.

There is no way around the learning part with the flex fuel. Unless they add a sensor. That will be the only way I see this happening. Also knock sensors that could add timing may be something we see. I would assume with their new turbo engine they’ve been working on something like that so you can run 87 or premium

It is not flex. But it can infer fuel from 87 to 93. Even tuning Hp tuners does not have an inferred flex available.

Those are the less Hp ones. They don’t much power they may not even be turbod I don’t remember. There 5.0 trucks are flex but not the eco boost

So strange. This all HAS to be cafe related. Doing some reading this morning manufacturers looked to be getting a considerable bump in their cafe mileage numbers for each FFV model they produced. This phased "down" up to model year 2019. That may explain why we don't see as many today. Shame since the fuel is a renewable energy (corn). I remember during what I saw as the height of FFV production, like 2011 - 2015(ish) it became a big political thing about using food (corn) as a fuel, and there were questions on farmers being incentivized to provide it to fuel companies rather than food production.

For reference, here's the timing maps from the Dodge Caravan FFV calibration I referenced when working on my Hellcat. Notice the huge bump in mid range timing in the alcohol table.

What makes me laugh is I heard a few people in public the other day talking about how bad e85 is because of all the pollution farming corn makes. I wanted to say hmm do you know anything about a battery but I kept walking.

I agree that E85 is more available than 100 octane, but the thing about E85 that bothers me is that you always should be checking, I know a sensor would be reading it and controlling the tune, but then horsepower is compromised. I too am surprised they would bring a final "bang" car to the market and have it be alternative fuel like E85, lots of old school guys would complain. I agree it may need to go there and we have probably approached the limits of premium unleaded. I love how my stock redeye performs on lowly premium unleaded, it made 753rwhp/712rwtq in 5th gear on it. I also still have my extended warranty and a friendly dealer
