I can see this going sideways fast. Your car will only run on iFuel, eFuel, tFuel and so on.... Although I am excited to see new tech come around. Look forward to seeing what happens.

Me too! They say it'll run in any combustion engine. Can't imagine what the price will start at? I'm just happy someone's exploring alternatives of going full EV.

The better question is, how many tenths can we gain, or just how many tenths do we lose?

Really interesting. If this could be economically feasible and readily available it’d be interesting to hear the greenie’s response to this if it was proven to be on par with EV emissions. I guess the other question is why haven’t oil companies been the leaders in this research rather than a car company? The oil companies like to bill themselves as energy providers and if oil is eventually phased out seems this would be another form of revenue. Obviously this would take years but still interesting nonetheless.

That would be quite dirty, if including all of an EV's lifetime emissions.
Seems to me that regular gas vehicles are already better than EVs in that respect (too).

I hear ya. But the greenies are only going to look at the emissions while in use and ignore all the pollution/destruction caused in mining the materials needed for the batteries. And I’m sure they’ll ignore the fact that most of the charging isn’t being done with renewable energy.

They have no clue. They think that farmers aren't needed because you get food from the grocery store.

I notice they do not mention price. The extra refining needed (and habit) would likely result in high cost. There's a reason Maclaren and porsche are involved.
I think they mentioned something about $7+ per gallon under current conditions. Obviously high but if they could generate economies of scale with mass production and bring the price down they might be onto something.

Interesting for sure. Still they're aiming for 80% ev sales by 2030 . I give them credit for thinking outside of the box. Not sure the ev phase will be around long, once the reality of cost/logistics/resources hits.

Not sure why greenies would balk. If it's carbon neutral it would be supported is my guess. No reason for it not to. HUGE advantage here is you keep 10s of millions of existing cars viable for much longer. Less need to quickly build an endless parade of soulless golf carts.

The ones that might be pissed and whine are EV companies and OEM car makers that jumped the gun too hard/fast.
