Out of Warranty oil change intervals

Now that the Hellcat is completely out of extended warranty, I find myself pushing my oil change interval to 5,000 miles and close to 1 year. OCIs seem to confirm 6,000 miles easy using PUP 0W-40. Don't anticipate my OCD will allow oil change interval over a year.

Been thinking about trying Amsoil, Schaeffer's, or HPL? However, due to PUP 0W-40 being decent for what I'm doing are the other oils worth the extra cost?

Does anyone have any UOAs with Amsoil, Schaeffer's, or HPL in a 6.2?

Don't need extended oil change intervals over a year...curious about wear advantages, etc.

Not a fan of Amsoil....why change what's working...:unsure:

Me too. Yearly is plenty since I only put about 2,400 miles a year on the cat. HPL is the BITOG darling at the moment and likely for good reason. AFAIK, the Porsche A40 certification is the toughest to meet, so I was thinking of trying one of the oils that meet it. PUP 0W-40 is fine, though and will likely just stick with it. [dunno]

Be it oils...fluids..or fuel...when I find something that works...I stick with it....guess that's why I'm still married after 51 years:oops:;)

I just turned 2400 miles on my "16" HC...first change @ 500 miles...now every year in spring...that's good enough...some of you guys get crazy with oil change intervals...

The SRT PUP is a very good oil (confirmed by Lake Speed's analysis and videos on it), and factoring in what I can get it for when shopping carefully for deals, it's overall value equation is the best for me.

I drive my Mopar fleet regularly, but not a lot of overall miles. My target for them is 1 yr minimum, but have gone two and sleep very well at night. For our two daily driver Chevys', the target is 5,000 miles, but I may change a little sooner or later depending on my schedule and mood at the given time.

I'm in the same boat as you & went to changing annually as soon as the warranty expired. I think what's more important than changing every 6 months is making sure you put some miles on it when started so the oil gets up to temp of a while and any nasties get a change to 'burn off'.

Saw the video with Amsoil vs PUP in the 6.4 Hemi and the copper leaching...interesting and thought provoking.

1,000 miles per year. Oil change every March. Penzoil 0W-40. It comes out just as clean as it went in.

Every 5000 miles. I use factory-spec oils and fluids. I'm not hard on cars anymore, no racing, just street-driving.

Not many people know more about oil than Lake Speed,Jr. He has an excellent YT channel.

As probably one of the few who daily drives their car here, I have 52k miles and do about 4-5 months and about 3-4k mile intervals. Always just use the PUP as it's fairly cheap.
