Not in the states that they can sell newer ones without having to pay a carbon tax of gas guzzler tax. In those states it hurt your value because you can buy a new one much cheaper than before. $20k cheaper in the DDHC for example.

Gas Guzzler tax is a Fed thing, and there's no GG tax on any version of the Durango (even the DDHC).
And comparing my DD392, in my state there isn't a used one available within ~100 miles of where I live.

I believe you it’s just super confusing how it’s written.
Gas Guzzler Tax (GGT): This is a federal tax levied on manufacturers of new passenger cars with an unadjusted combined fuel economy below 22.5 mpg. The Dodge Durango SRT 392 and SRT Hellcat trims are subject to this tax. The GGT applies only to passenger cars, so most SUVs, including the V6 and standard V8 Durango models, are exempt.
Carbon Tax: A carbon tax, or carbon pricing, is a broader policy that sets a price on carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions. While some US states and cities have considered similar policies, none currently apply a direct carbon tax on vehicles. In general, a carbon tax would apply to the combustion of fuels rather than targeting specific inefficient models.
