Up until about a year ago I was getting recall notices from FCA about a fire extinguisher recall on my '09 SRT. I googled it but could find nothing. I called the dealership and they said they knew nothing of it either. It's funny, they took my vin and said yep it sure enough shows a recall but never heard or knew nothing about it. Then they're was silence and I heard tapping . I said what are you doing? she said "I'm googling it outside our system but can't find anything on there either". :D. After a few years I have now stopped getting notices.
Has anyone ever heard of this or know anything about it?

I am not positive where it was located. My Husband had a 2009 Challenger for a short time. He traded it in on a 2010 Furious Fuchsia for me and he was getting a 2011 DragPak. 'm not positive but I think I remember one behind the passenger seat.

Maybe the trunk
It was just part of the road safety kit.

I looked everywhere on the car. Even in places that would be useless even if you had it. (i.e. under seat, engine compartment, trunk). If it was that well concealed it would be useless in an emergency.
It's crazy. This thing is like the unicorn. People swear it exists. The Co. issued a RECALL for god's sake. But no-one not even the dealer has seen one.
Does that make my car a SUPER rare edition cause vin says I have one? Is it worth a million dollars yet? Anyone have a lowly redeye they wanna trade? LOL.
Thanks so much for the time to look into it Linda.

If you find it it is probably a plastic headed Kidde. Google "Kidde recall". They recalled about 38 million of them. If you make a claim on line all you have to do is provide the model# and serial# and they will send you a replacement. I have owned a fire protection company for 22 years so I know what I am talking about.

Thank you but I nor the dealer even know where it is or would be located to get those numbers. Again, it's crazy.

Why worry about it? Obvious that your car does not have one. Good thing you didn’t need it because you couldn’t find it. LOL

It's not really a worried about it thing, I just thought it was a really cool idea that they did it but you cant even find a picture of it on google. Which makes me think, even though the certain cars were slated to get them they never went into full production (or at all)? And no one has a definite answer about it anywhere. Maybe on second thought, they thought issuing a fire extinguisher meant they were saying your car is inherently unsafe? It's just real bizarre.

Go Goody is that the factory issue? Cause if it is, that's the 1st pic I've seen of it, and what year is the car if it is. My car def had nothing like that in the trunk when I got it.

Mopar has a roadside emergency kit, one of those dealer installed options or maybe added in as a free promotional item that year and that contained this extinguisher. Since FCA can't really tell if you got one, they are probably blanketing all sales or all dealers that routinely ordered these things that year.

HK is absolutely worst audio system I have ever had.

I had issues with the HK system....long delay between the front speakers and the sub.

It never sounded "right" Amp replacement did not correct issues nor did "software upgrade" performed at dealer.

The audio system made me not want to drive the car anywhere but to the track. ;)

So I installed the following

AmpPRO Amplifier interface module https://catalog.pac-audio.com/catalog/amppro-amplifier-interfaces/ap4-ch21
Alpine Amp https://www.alpine-usa.com/product/pdx-v9
Front speakers https://www.alpine-usa.com/product/x-s69c
Rear speakers https://www.alpine-usa.com/product/r-s65.2-car-speakers
Subs https://www.polkaudio.com/products/mm1042dvc X2 for trunk

http://www.arcaudio.com/store?p=92426

All Monster brand cables and a custom MDF Sub Box built into the trunk permanently.

Adjustable bass control hidden above right knee on console.

And about 6 yards of Dynamat

$4200 in parts

The cool screen over the subs was another custom project....

I am very happy with the final results!

Thank you. This seems like a logical explanation and the first time I've heard it. I just googled Challenger roadside emergency kit and looked at google images and still could not find one Mopar kit with the extinguisher(everything but. Lol). But then I googled just Dodge roadside emergency kit and the Ram/jeep kits had them. Either way thank you , that makes sense and is probably right.

Friend at work has been getting a recall notice on fire extinguisher the last few weeks.
Cannot figure out why.
Didn't someone from the other place comment that in his country (cannot remember which), they are required?
