The older ones which they still sell are 18 pounds a piece and I think 6.1 inches wide. The newer ones are 25.3 pounds a piece and 6.5 inches wide.

No the new ones as Marc stated do not give a weight rating. At least that is what I understand. The unstated weight rating is presumed much higher than the 1140 on the ones you have.

So are the 1140 not strong enough to support the car?

You are correct on the weight comparison. Technically no they are not strong enough. But probably better than the Hoosiers that I was running. Al be it Hoosier does not put their weight rating on their front runners. When I emailed Hoosier two years ago Hoosier said I will be fine. But I do not feel comfortable. They wander on me on the big end and I fight to keep the car straight.

I have about 300 lbs out of the car, but I take it slow and don’t go over 65 on them to the track no highways. I have my swaybar removed as well so helps keep me in line, I don’t take corners fast or narrow

I am sure you are fine. Don’t forget to add your weight and the stopping pressure you are putting on them at over 140. Stay safe and nice looking car!

Thanks! You too man! When it comes time for new ones I’ll probably go with the heavier ones, price seems to be about the same as the original. Wasn’t paying $380 + for sportsman’s. Let me know if you ever get a straight answer on the weight rating

The weight rating is a DOT street thing. The tires that are labeled as not for street use don’t require one so there isn’t any. Race tires like the Hoosiers and M/T’s are designed for high speed straight line use on a smooth surface. If you are wandering to the point of concern, it’s not those tires. Those Hoosiers are commonly used on very fast cars (including our blue one and it runs high 7’s at 175 with no problem).

I have a vibration from one of my axles. I have through direct connection two new redeye axles coming. I have those front aad upper front control arms with the shims. When I get both axles installed I will have a new alignment. Yes, concerned.

I think this tells me something. One of the front runners is looking normal. This one in the picture does not seem right. I did not pay attention as to which one belonged to which side. I should of. IMG_0865.jpeg

Since it is not over the entire tire I have a feeling it is a bad tire. Something broken internally in the tire. But when I get the new axles I will have them aligned. Do the right and left toe and camber need to be exactly the same on the front?

A couple things I think….. Past the finish line on the brakes is when the front is going to come down. At that point, the weight on the tire is going to increase to max and your camber is going to roll onto the inside of the tire. So… you are going to want to put enough positive camber in your alignment to put the tire at zero on hard braking. If not, you’re going to end up putting all that braking on the inside edge of the tire. Not good from a braking standpoint or for your tire. You could wear them down to dangerous without even knowing it unless you check for that frequently. You have the AAD front uppers so you can address that. As far as toe goes….. out is unstable. If you’re wandering around, that could be the problem. Toe in just enough to make it stable in a straight line without wearing the outside edge of the tire significantly.
