@vortecd they're developing new stuff while Stellantis is only focused on "green" shit.

It's what they're developing versus Stellantis. I don't like them either.

I like Chevys
Their dealers locally pissed me off trying to get a 6.2L GMC Truck back in 2013. Ended up in a Ram and have been a Hemi man ever since except for my hot rod 55.

Might be going back after the Dodge shit storm

My 21 Ram has had a bunch of recalls. I have an appointment this week for another recall.

Smart to cover your bases. This EV crap isn’t etched in stone yet.

this engine has been available since 2020, not really new. unless you work at fox news lol
But they are expanding its use. Unlike others who are shrinking the use of diesels. This is what I'm trying to point out.

agree....... but it has been in the chev an gmc pickup since my20 but your correct, it is so successful they are now in the big suvs as well. I`m waiting on my 2nd one to go in to production.
I`m not even close to being brand loyal. I took my blinders off years ago.

I have found myself over the years buying what appears to be what best suits our needs at the time.
We have had issues with GM cars in the past.

I`m retired now after several decades as a auto tech an if there`s one thing I`ve learned they all have made junk in the past. including GM

89 Pontiac 6000, 90 Chevy Suburban and a 2016 Cadillac ATS. All total junk. Caddy was lemon lawed.

My Sierra AT4 and my wife's Yukon Denali both have the baby Duramax, I absolutely love this engine in these trucks. I average 26 mpg in my AT4, that's with about 50/50 city and highway driving. None of my past trucks have gotten even close to that. The low end is really nice and has both trucks moving out from a stoplight nicely, they wouldn't win any high speed races, buy they are great for a daily driver and light work duty engine.

GM seems to be the only successful light duty diesel. I hear good things about them. Never driven one though. I tried to buy an AT4 with the diesel in 2021. They wanted full price and I couldn’t test drive it as they were waiting on the PCM. They wanted me to pay for the truck, but couldn’t even give me a ETA of when the pcm would be in.
I ended up in a 2022 Ram.

In 2021 all the GM dealers wanted $10K+ ADM on the diesels when I looked at them.

I can lock in msrp price.
Not a problem.

My issue is my truck is an odd build.
So the general manager
Wants 8k down. To order it.
looking elsewhere.

My 21 Ram has had a bunch of recalls. I have an appointment this week for another recall.
So? I have a pile of probably 20 different recalls, mostly between two of them.

Some I've simply bought the required parts for (water pump. drag link, etc.) and installed them, others I've simply ignored. And sure enough, they still function and drive just fine.

Now, if I had a recall for the CP4 pump, that I wouldn't ignore.
