I guess the Ford Super Duties are serviced that way now for any major engine work, with the cabs being lifted. Not that an I6 shouldn't need replacement already.
Yeah that was one of the first ones that needs a thermostat housing or something like that. They updated the part but unfortunately the way the engineers design stuff it’s sometimes easier to yank the body off.

Viewed as a powerful AWD touring car and not as a Hellcat replacement, I’m not hating it. 4700 lbs and reasonably priced.

The Hurricane is going to prove great it’s just the car is way too heavy. A Hellcat power plant isn’t going to make this car significantly better since a fully dressed iron block hellcat is 850lbs. That would make this car weigh in at 5200lbs with 400 more lbs on the front end.

C'mon, if Dodge put the D170 motor in a new Charger it would haul ass and you know it, the thing would do a wheelie and sound better doing it. I'm not saying the Hurricane is a bad motor, but it doesn't measure up to the bar that SRT set. Put 30psi of boost through a V8 and see what happens. Hopefully there's bigger and better coming from Dodge.

That was last month at my local dealer. Was in the bay next to my 170 when I got the spark plug thing done.

Well of course, besides the wheelie. You’re talking about a $150k car compared to a $60k car.

That’s wild it looks exactly the same as the one I saw a couple months ago. I think the Hurricane is going to be a phenomenal engine but I sure wouldn’t buy the first gen.

BMW had some teething problems with their first gen B58 and now it’s considered one of the best engines in the industry. It’s usually given as the reason why BMW reliability ratings have greatly increased in the last ten years.

I agree. It’s now more of a Grand Touring (GT) car.

I have to see it in person but I dont hate it If they can keep it from blowing up I think it will sell. But Im not the one they have to convince. My HC isnt going anywhere and I cant afford a $50-60k daily. so....

I dont like the new Charger body style. Im not opposed to a tt I6, look at the 2J, but the current one had to many compromises to save money imo and it's made them problematic.

I dont think an I6 can be a halo car for them though

Love when the Durango HC started revving its engine in the background🤣🤣🤣... that's the direction the Charger needs to head!

If they can offer a DD392 for $50k (less than a base Rubicon), why does the Wrangler 392 cost so frekin' much?!?!?:mad::mad:

Now we know why this thing is 4800 lbs.

I think it can but it’s going to need to be in a lighter chassis like slightly under 4000lbs. Once the aftermarket gets ahold of these and people realize their capabilities it will create a cult like following if it goes into the right car.

The Challenger was the right car first that then received an incredible engine making it an instant legend. The Hurricane will draw people to the car if it’s put into a modern day Dart equivalent.

We already have our V8’s and where not giving them up for a TTI6 but the next generation will want something fun and fast to drive but can’t spend $100k on a Hellcat so something smaller, lighter and cheaper is the only way your going to appeal to the people that don’t already have a V8.

Personally I had zero interest in a BMW until the B58 came along in the right sized car with optional AWD. I still have no interest in any BMW without a B58/S58. If Dodge can slot a car right under the Charger they have a chance to build another legend for the next generation and possibly a fun daily driver for those of us that already have a V8 in the garage but still want to drive something fun for a daily driver instead of falling asleep behind the wheel of yet another grey/black SUV.

Of course it would do a wheelie in a new Charger, it's not heavy like a Rolls Royce. I believe the D170 MSRP was just short of 100k and yes, I doubt many paid that amount. A new Charger at 60K with that level of performance isn't good value to me. Relatively speaking, the Challenger 1320 was faster and cheaper.

My point was Dodge had a great motor, certainly better performing that what they're pushing now.

If we all liked vanilla ice cream we would all be eating vanilla ice cream and we would all be happy.

Agreed...and a 150k car is not going to save the motor company...how many on here will pony up for a 150k+ super car...certainly not enough to save a sinking ship..

I wouldn’t be that confident in the wheelie. The current D170 needs near perfect conditions and now you’re adding a lot more weight and even more importantly another 6” of wheelbase.
