Banks wont lend very far above msrp. Would be buyers may not have known that at the time of order/deposit
The dealer should of pre-qualified them before taking their deposit.

sometimes they wont finance the whole thing..require 10/15% or more down

Walked the lot of a nearby CDJR dealer today. Lotsa $60k plus wranglers, $100k wagoneers, etc, and of course plenty of Challengers and Chargers. Every one has the dealer "Protection plan" at $994 that is basically a shot of Scotchguard on the seats. And a $1199 "Pre Delivery service fee. And of course each one has a line item for "Market Adjustment", so thats just gonna be an ongoing thing with these shady dealers now. The adjustment was $0 on the '23 Chal/Char stock of course. I absolutely hate to buy anything from a dealer in FL, most are so slimy

Yeah, but that's just during the price negotiation part of the deal.

Dealers around here now want $2k - $3k for their 'Protection or Advantage' plan bump + the $900 - $1600 dealer fee + many now tack on an extra $500 + $300 for title & transfer (actual DMV cost is about $100 for both). So basically you're at a $4k+ bump before they fuck you over with the ADM.
And thanks to our bought & paid for legislators, if you want the OE extended warranty you have to pay MSRP, another $2 - $3k gouge.

Buying a car in FL absolutely sucks butt !!!!

I looked at it with Chrysler capital (finance said they had the “most favorable” terms) said you’re nuts that’s not the terms I agreed on with the salesman, stood up to walk out then all of a sudden the terms I wanted with lower rate/# of payments I wanted (a lot cheaper overall in the long run) magically appeared. Finance is shady
Yep. They mark it up at least a half a percent sometimes more. Plus any actual specified Kickback in their deal

I used to argue over dumb shit like that but as long as they treat me good enough before during and after the sale anymore I almost don't even argue the half a percent and let them have it.

Wouldn't it be sufficient to simply qualify, instead of having to "pre-qualify"?

Or is it like with what used to be existing things have now become "pre-existing" - which to me means that they used to exist. As in previously existing.

Left a bad taste in my mouth. I got the deal and terms I wanted, but I will not be recommending them. Was an obvious scam

Which is exactly what used to be called "qualifying for a loan", right?

A good F&I guy @ a high volume dealership..can make a ton of money for the dealer..(and himself)..he's the guy that up sells you on everything from extended warrantee's to floor mats and everything in between...and he plays the financing games...he's NOT your friend..he sometimes is the highest paid guy @ the dealership...
