New to the forum. I'm the driver, not the owner. Too lazy to read back and see if anyone else is having problems locating a SFI shield. We are running 9.80's at 3075 mean altitude without pulleying yet. No doubt quicker when we pulley! Anyone know who manufacturers one?

I would think a generic blanket would cover that base as far as safety goes. I would check Jegs or Summit. I seriously doubt that there is a specific item being produced due to low demand. As far as 9 second requirements go.... very few are even installing cages and the tracks that care won’t get to the part where they’re asking about trans/bell housing protection if you don’t have the rest of the stuff to start. The last time I checked in for 8.5 I was asked about the trans and I told them I had a stock trans with a SFI flexplate and blanket. Everything else on the list had checked no problem so he took my word for it as he couldn’t see under the car.

We unfortunately have a very serious track tech here. I'm actually one of the techs and I'm also the starter as well as involved in many other track/racing operations. Plus we plan to run NHRA events and their tech will be very thorough. The cage is going in soon. Axles and driveshaft have already been done. Flexplate is coming too. But the shield is hard to find! Thanks for your input!
Injectors 1300cc, removed resonators, hotter plugs, bigger fuel pumps, tune. Axles, driveshaft, not really performance mods, but we're trying to meet all NHRA safety requirements. Cage is on the way, flexplate as well. We're going to pulley the blower next and retune. Our air density doesn't much below 4700 here and that's on a cold day! I might be missing some mods as I just drive the car!
