My HC with only 19k on it needs a water pump and possibly a SC. I’ve watched some YouTubes and the official Mopar procedure for the water pump replacement involves pulling the SC. There are several videos that show it can be done without doing that, though.

Do any of you have any info on the quality of their work and reputation? Wesley is in Lansing, so they’re close by. If it’s determined I need a SC, I might consider a modest Whipple. I’m just wondering if they or any other place in my area might be a better option than my dealership which has a decent service department.

Well..that doesn't sound like much fun...(and only 19,000 miles)...what makes you think you need a new SC ????

It’s noisy. I had it inspected summer before last when I still had some extended powertrain warranty left. Stellantis said it wasn’t bad. If I end up having it pulled for the pump and I’m not convinced the SC is 100%, I’ll just have it replaced.

I know he has good mods for suspension and brakes and does lefts and right turns. I would trust them to do that procedure.

I have a whipple but would not recommend it. They still haven't fixed them. Mine does make some noise but has over 10k miles on it.

A better option would be to send it to SDG like @Speedy! did with his then you could have it upgraded with a billet blower plate and bigger snout

Thanks. That probably is the best option, but I just don’t have the back to do that work anymore. 15 years ago I’d have given it a go.

It's not that I don't have the back anymore...and I have the time...but I hired this 22yr old kid to come over..do oil changes...and help with the detailing...(I'm overboard anal bout detailing)..he's gettin good..but I cant trust him alone....I used to service all my own bikes...now the Harley dealer is only a mile from my house...I drop one off..they do a full service..I drop another one off 2 days later..and pickup the first one...I guess I'm gettin lazy...

Just an update:
I ended up taking the Cat to the dealership. I was afraid to take it to some of reputable places @Jon-MooredPerformanceLLC suggested because of the distance and the likelihood of the water pump taking a shit. The pump was definitely toast and the techs replaced it without removing the SC. Except for not aligning the airbox duct with the headlight hole, they did a good job. Everything sounds good now. I believe the wp was responsible for the grinding noises I was hearing and was a bad part from day one, as it didn't last even 19,000 miles. The pump, thermostat, 3.5 hours shop time, and coolant came to $2300. (Mopar list price for the wp alone was $1100!) Exorbitant, but happy not to have to pay for SC removal and replacement.

Should I ever decide to replace the SC, I'd have one of guys Jon recommended do it and go the Kong route. Wesley Motor Sports never responded to a phone call or email.

Could have been worse...your out a few bucks..but @ the end of the day everything is back to normal
