Given the fact I got ten or so years on you...in my late teens...my favorite group I listened to was 3 Dog nite...(out in the country is probably my all time favorite)....what was your all time favorite group...and song:unsure::unsure:
That is an incredibly good question.
I think it all depends on my mood.
Off the cuff, I was going to say Beatles.
But then I thought Wings.
Journey is a contender.
Then Pink Floyd.
Then Heart. Then Loggins and Messina.
Eagles and Bob Seger are absolutely in the conversation.
So is ELO.
Boston was bad ass and early foreigner also.
Never a fan of the rolling stones or the who.

If Bob Seger came out of retirement I definitely would want to see him.
If Joe Walsh was in the area, id like to see him.

After seeing The Beach Boys at age 12 or so, my next concert was the MC5 in a small venue in Birmingham, MI 1968. Ears rang for three days. Probably lost a little hearing permanently that day. Quite a change from the BB’s.

Kick Out The Jams Mother F’rs!
Your post reminded me....there was a fifth concert we attended...The beach boys...(on the beach..Crystal Beach Canada..early 90's...they played on the beach of lake Erie...facing the water..only accessible by water...100's of boats..unique event...

Used to have a friend who's sister lived with "Robert" for ages. So when he became a fireman/paramedic, the family had a big party-BBQ. When we got there, we were told Robert was gonna attend the shindig. It was a great party, with good weather, people, food, and drink. Lots of people were playing summer games, and I saw Robert asking people to play horseshoes. I was kinda shocked when nobody wanted to play. So, he eventually asked me. I was a bit star-struck, and we played about 6 games. He was very cool, and I also realized why nobody wanted to play....he sucked at horseshoes. LOL
Great experience and life story, though.

That was sometime between 1980-84.

Okay, let’s cast some large nets, to find some of my real old friends and serious party monsters!

I cannot count the number of rock concerts I have attended. This was by far the largest, longest, most wild and one where I saw more bands than any other time in one place. This event is one of the top six attended events here in the USA, depending on who authorized the count. I’ll tell ya. There were AT LEAST 250,000 at that fairgrounds that weekend. Holy shit, if you were not there watch some YouTube videos on it.

Who else was there? Friday afternoon we were 25 yards in front of stage right all afternoon partying our asses off at about 19 years old, by the time Ted Nugent played that guitar on his back, with the pick in his mouth with the hair over the front of the stage that evening we were in row 3.

Some other notable events…
Multiple Sun-Day concerts at the Mile-High in Denver in 1975-1977. Those were great.

WHO in Cedar Rapids, IA. In the 80’s-90’s?

Rolling Stones - Orange Bowl say mid-90’s
Rolling Stones - Minneapolis -COVID concert

Multiple ZZ-Top and Lynyrd Skynrd in Minneapolis

Was once very, very close…. “what time do you want to meet” ready to ride motorcycles with Prince one evening here in Chanhassen, but he backed out.

Most memorable 2 shows of “recent” times are Judas Priest and Megadeath in a 1500 capacity bar in Huntington, NY. Elbow on the bar with beer, stage maybe 30ft. away. Most memorable of all times was Frank Zappa at the Jones Beach Theater, LI, NY. Awesome off-shore electrical storm over the ocean as a back drop. Saw Steely Dan in NYC a few times, always a great show as well! RIP Walter Becker.

Saw Bad Company, Foreigner, Styx and Billy Idol all at the same concert. I think the venue was called the Nissan Pavilion back then but is now Jiffy Lube Live in Bristow, VA near Manassas. Billy Idol rocked it big time. He really outperformed everyone!

Well....it clear there is no shortage of musical memories with this crew...all very cool...kinda surprised none of the older crew did Woodstock in NY...probably the Mega event of all concerts..and probably the biggest traffic nightmare and cluster fuck of all time in NY....had 4 friends that went...all long gone now....this thread begs the question...can you even imagine a world without music:unsure::unsure::unsure::(

I was at school in Boston. Several of my fraternity brothers went but I had to work. The Woodstock documentary makes me a little emotional and I would love to see it again.

He was such an introvert. But a good dude and a music genius of course. He did ride around here a lot, but always with a black everything covering himself. My neighbor played in a local group with let’s just say… his best buddy.
