This morning, Stellantis announced two big pieces of information. First, Tim Kuniskis has been promoted to Head of American brands and North America marketing and retail strategy. Second, the Street and Racing Technology division is being reassembled, suggesting that we might be in store for another era of truly high performance vehicles from the Chrysler Group brands.

Tim Kuniskis retired from Stellantis last summer, after helping Dodge grow into a leading name in American performance community, but he returned to the company late last year to run the Ram Trucks brand. In short, the company brought him back to help save the Ram brand and now he will help save Dodge, Chrysler and Jeep from the EV push that has been forced upon the American people by the previous presidential administration.

“Connecting with our customers, delivering the products and experiences they want, is critical to reaching our full potential,” said Antonio Filosa, Stellantis CEO. “Tim has proven time and time again that he is masterful at building brands that reach the heart and soul of the customer. We will leverage his energy, his strategic mindset and his competitive spirit to supercharge all our brand activities.”

It seems that one of Kuniskis’ first moves is to reestablish the Street and Racing Technology division that engineered all of the company’s most popular performance vehicles over the past 20 years or so. Needless to say, many people hope that the return of the SRT division will lead to the return of more Hemi-powered performance vehicles across all of the American brands.

“We’re getting the band back together,” said Kuniskis. “SRT is another box we needed to check as we head into a product launch cadence enabling more performance than we’ve ever seen before. We’re working with our product development and technology organization to select the best engineers in powertrain and vehicle dynamics to build a team worthy of the SRT name.”

I was hoping for something like this, but honestly never expected to see it happen. Having Kuniskis back (and Tavares out) was a big step in the right direction, but this really is great news!!

Hopefully the board will let TK have his way, rather than force any other brain-dead mandate on him to execute. It was so cringe watching him try to spin "muscle car" and "performance" when pitching the Hornet and EV Charger. You could see he didn't believe it and hated his job at the time.

The Cuda is a great car! I have two of them, I was always a Plymouth guy, but had to jump to Dodge when they killed it. With that I struggle with a Dodge Cuda...

You can say that again.

It also was horrible at the Philly car show listening to the "Pretty girl" talk Perfomance of the EV Charger. So many of us stood and laughed at the "How the exhaust, it sounds so real" It was time to walk away!

My first car was a Barracuda ;) My neighbor's friend was always over with his Sublime fully loaded Cuda! 440 6 pak. John was a Mustang guy back in the day, this Cuda really caught his eye too!

Knowing how Dodge is (or at least used to be) there must be something exciting hidden in that video. Is there something faintly visible thru the smoke at the end of the video? I can see a blue and green dot or something, but not sure what I am seeing here?

Maybe I am just an automotive conspiracy theorist as well.....

If they do, they will likely brand it an SRT Cuda rather than a Dodge (and an SRT Duster is possible too).

By Hailey Hutcheson
July 2, 2025 , Auburn Hills, Mich. – Stellantis announces Tim Kuniskis is appointed head of American brands and North America marketing and retail strategy, reporting to Antonio Filosa, Stellantis CEO and chief operating officer, North America & American brands. In this newly created role, Kuniskis will work across the brand portfolio to further build and enhance the connections customers have with the company’s products, marketing efforts and dealer network in the region.
Kuniskis retains his position as CEO of the Ram brand. Each of the current brand CEOs will continue driving their respective brands.

“Connecting with our customers, delivering the products and experiences they want, is critical to reaching our full potential,” said Filosa. “Tim has proven time and time again that he is masterful at building brands that reach the heart and soul of the customer. We will leverage his energy, his strategic mindset and his competitive spirit to supercharge all our brand activities.”
Stellantis also announces the return of its iconic performance division, Street and Racing Technology (SRT), under the leadership of Kuniskis. The move marks a bold step in unifying high-performance engineering across Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep® and Ram under a single, dedicated identity.

Too little too late. People have already moved on. And the insane money they’re asking to have a hemi in your ram now is bonkers. There’s no course correction here, already hit the iceberg

The new charger platform is DOA. They need a sedan and coupe people want, with 6.4 and hellcat offerings. Not going to happen
