Posted on the other site too but looking to see if there are any others here.

I'm contemplating this but would like to see some pics first.

Short version....I drove into the house so I am having the front bumper cover repaired, repainted, and in 30 days PPF put on it. "While we are in there" replacing the front splitter as mine is scraped up. PPF installer said can't do PPF on the "bare" splitter so I was thinking about painting it to match.

I’ve seen some pictures before and just did an internet search and saw a couple pictures of black and sublime painted splitters. Looks ok; but not really sure I’d go to the trouble to do it. I’d imagine that the paint will crack more easily since the splitter takes some abuse.

Also, I would think you need to paint the door sill trim panels to color match as well to make it mesh better.

Well, then I guess you also have the rear valence which is also black plastic trim.

What color is your car?

Seen it on more chargers than I have on challengers.
Looks good to me, but do not know it's ability to last or not.

I guess if you’re painting it just to be able to do a PPF wrap on it, I’d go either gloss or matte black to make it wrap-able. Unless you wanna body match it.

yeah...in a hurry after washing the car...started raining...

i was in a hurry to pull it in the garage and was doing it from the opposite side and just misjudged it. Getting older and eyes/depth perception aren’t what they use to be.

i feel that. Thankfully the splitter isn’t too expensive.

At least it was the entrance and not pulling through the entire garage.

That first pic of the B5 in the earlier post is mine as well (when i first got it done). It’ll last just fine as long as you don’t hit anything.

i think it looks phenomenal!!.

Mine is not covered in PPF, I wish I had done it, and it was fine for 3 years until last year when a giant rock bounced off of it and did some damage.

You DONT need to paint the side rockers on the sides of the car to match. It does not look out of place.

Your car looks great! I was hoping you would chime in and post a pic from the side so I could see.

Yeah I'm going to do it. Just need to decide if I want to paint the splitter guard a satin black and put it back on as well.

I like it. Those things take some abuse. See if they can wrap some clear on it. I have the openings just above it wrapped and they get spanked bad. The lapping at high speeds probably don’t help.

I had the bumper cover, splitter, and splitter guard all PPF’d.

I put the splitter guard back on to give a little black up front and to protect the splitter. If the guard gets damaged is a cheaper option to replace than the splitter was my thinking.

wow!!! Looks even better on a wide body !!!!!!
my painted one took a rock on the top surface and left and indentation. I think next year I might take it off and have it repainted along with the OEM splitter that I have sitting in my basement.
looks great man !! Makes the car look much more meaner and lower in the front.
