First for me is the 1986 Dodge Omni GLH.

Friend in high school had one and it was a blast and looked mostly anonymous.

Second was those early to mid 2000's Mercedes AMG cars.

^^😂

There was a time when the modified van was definitely a thing, then somehow it got associated with it being the pervert van trying to pick up kids.

Not exactly sure how that leap was made. 😳

Yeah I was too young to get one but damn they were intriguing for sure and for me I had a 2004 Joe Gibbs Special Chevy Tahoe lowered and Supercharged. She was pretty fast back in the day and the damn thing coasted @ 80 mph lol. And received my first 88mph ticket ugh In that damn thing.

Yeah so much limitations with the standard 14inch wheel. Of course a wider track out back and it's sleeper status is diminished.
Yep. Still, 13.7 quarter mile was remarkable in ‘63.

I raced a guy on the street for money back in 1971 who had a pea green 1961 4 door Pontiac Tempest with a 455 and a 4 speed in it! We knew what he had but talk about a sleeper.

Jimmy Addisons Silver Bullet car that ran out of Woodward ave Sunoco station. Ya it had some bigger tires on the back but it was running mid 10s back in late 60s early 70s it was a sliver 1967 Hemi GTX, that was well massaged to damn near fly. It was tweeked and modified by none other than Tom Hoover the father of gen 2 Hemi. The object was to make it look as stock as possible without looking like full race. but go like hell. A trained eye may see other mods but mid 10s back in those days it was absolutely unheard of for such a unassuming looking ride. If you want more info go to SilverbulletGTX.com or just type in Silver bullet GTX and you will have many hits to choose from.

Here’s another sleeper, but a road racer. A buddy and I went to the Waterford Hills track when we were still in high school. An ugly grey ‘64 Tempest started at the end of the field and we thought what the hell is that thing doing out there with the Corvettes, Porsche’s and a Lotus Super Seven. The flag drops and it starts passing everything (Waterford Hills is really tight with hardly any straightaway) except one car and finished second. We were dumb founded. A couple months later I read in a magazine that it was a group of Pontiac engineers doing a shake down run for the Trans Am series.

This was my first thought when I saw the thread - the Omni GLHS was a car on my list back in the day.

This is my favorite sleeper. An MGB, lightened and with a healthy aluminum V8.
No V8 badges, scoops, or any of that nonsense, just almost invisible rear fender flares to accommodate wheels and tires almost twice the stock width.

It even had a better power to weight ratio than my girlfriend's 911 Turbo S, but as Motorhead knows, with its 5-speed I just couldn't compete with the Porsche's 7-speed PDK.

I do miss it sometimes, but definitely don't regret getting the Hellcat instead.

For me, modern day, Charger Hellcat. I find a lot that know Hellcats associate more with the Challengers. Maybe I am wrong (wouldn't be the first time), what do you all think?

Well, in the back of my pointed head, living as close to the sling shot spot as I do. I can hear, see and do, but youz guyz don't hear or se sea the on going situation which would place you into the mode as a sleeper cell. Correct?? At 4 million HP placement on point and you can't hear it,, wood place it as a sleeper mobile vehicle. Correct??? If not, tell crab man to look at my car, cause it was a sleeper when the pic was taken cause it was not awake. For those interested,, I did see the rocket blast it's ass off last week and it was snot a sweeper.

Currently it’s the Trackhawk. 90% of the public has no idea what it is.

Ok, I am a part of the 10%, but put me in a smaller group of .05 %,, but I still have no idea other tan what I have educated myself by reading. It is a very powerful kinda SUV like Ford has but different. It can crawl up the Sears Towers in 3rd gear and smoke the tires. With video screens on the backs of the head rests. Most powerful engines in it's class and can be retuned to the track if wanted. Close?? Be equipped with lcd lights and can out run a C8 if need be. Close??
