Normally in the fall at tnt they will spray the track a few time. Couple of weeks ago they may have before they started but only dragged the track a few times once they started. We had a mid 8 second car there that Jon was tuning and turned into a wasted day because of it

At the weight and power we’re at with built Hellcats, any TnT with street tire’d cars sharing the track is a waste of time and money. We’re installing the “no-prep” sensors now and are sharing a $4k track rental to dial those in so we can get down an ordinary track that is not highly prepped. Unfortunately everybody with factory ECU’s can’t do that. We’ll be installing ride hight (wheelie control) G-Meter and Wheel Speed sensors for traction control. These 1000+ whp cars are down right dangerous on a track that isn’t right

@jonx96 had me on basically a no prep tune to get down the track. Added more at the hit and it just blew the tires off.

Not a good day even with my low powered car.

Our track has been making me really mad this year. Even after numerous complaints here is what they do.
1. Prep the track.
2. Let street cars run
3. Let drag tires run
4. Bikes
They do this a few times then they let street cars run again after they reprep

Why let street-tire cars run at all?

Make them run on separate days with zero-prep??

They're a huge money maker for the track.

Many tracks have open t&t, street tire only and trailer, slick only t&t nights.

Keeps everyone happy.

Geez
Unfortunately that doesn't surprise me. You would think a simple conversation with whoever's in charge to explain how things work would correct that. My guess is they just don't care. The primary purpose of these open track deals is to get the yahoo's off the street to "support safety" in the community. Giving local drag racers a place to actually test and tune isn't the purpose. The problem we have out west is the only tracks still open, with the exception of Bakersfield in California, are the big NHRA tracks like Vegas and Pomona. They don't give a shit about anything but NHRA sponsored events. The so called "Midnite Mayhem" at Vegas won't even let trailers in the pits. We had to unload in the parking lot and drive the car in. They are afraid of gang banging and search every body for guns.

Gainesville which is owned by the NHRA, feels the same way. It sprinkles, we're not drying the track. Time to go home.

that won't happen. Track is only open Friday and Saturday with a Wednesday here and there. Only other time is for a special event. Just not enough days to do that

Prep has been a historical problem at my local track on TNT days. Some of the "big" guys and gals started to complain and now they do a few "Hot Shot TNT" events limited to 50 cars, $75 entry, race tires only. They're awesome and worth every penny of the $75. It's too much time and effort to get the car setup and to the track only to have the track ruined by all the street tire yahoos.

I'm going to ask the track manager if they can prep one lane at the next TNT and let the race tire cars run in that lane and put the street tire cars in the other. We'll see how that goes.

It had been 70 deg all week and we were supposed to hit the track today. Weather forecast continued to get worse as the weekend approached ending up with a band of snow this morning closing the track for the weekend.

Too bad, DA woulda been amazing but I doubt the car would hook up anyway at these temps.
