Went into the dealer once back in the viper hey day. Wanted to pick out a GTS and buy it. Service director and I talked it over for probably 3 hours and he eventually talked me out of it. He did not fit in it and I sure as hell was shoe horned in. Ride was terrible. He said they saw a fair amount of trouble from the v-10 "truck engine". I wasnt in love with it to begin with and the raw lack of refinement and really midling to mediocre performance really made the value proposition weak. Do not regret at all not getting it. I always felt dodge waited to long to update it as time went by and that there were always better cars out there for around the same money. Now, I never lived at the track and always like daily or near dailying my cars so living with it is a key for me. But I still think there are better track cars for the price too. Look at the nurburgring performances. Was very much a successor to the original ac cobra to me, with all the good and the bad amplified.

Raced one west of houston on the highway in mid-2000s with the SC GTO and beat him handily. But of course that doesn't always mean anything about the car if the driver is the weak point, but it was still entertaining

Anyway just my thoughts.

Vipers are definitely no truck engines; actually Lambo had a part in the original V10 design. The engines are mostly bullet proof, except for some noted in the Gen5.

Not sure if you ever been on a road course in the passenger seat of a Gen5 ACRE? The lateral grip and braking is mind boggling.

If you think Hellcats have that raw feeling…the Viper is x10. Who cares about interior when you can’t wipe that shit-grinning smile off your face.

All that is true, but there are cats w similar performance and fewer compromises.

I still think that This vs. That on post 1 is the best plaid vs X, but this one here shows one at willow springs (drag racing, not running the circuit) against some stand up bad ass sport bikes and winning. Thing is pretty amazing. Back in the day I had some damn fast bikes but if you get out ahead of a car and then he drives back around you....

Don't have the $$$s for either one. Just still watching ventagege car restores. Old muscle cars re dune. 68 Olds with 700 plus HP that will stay together.

Unfair for the bike, with the wind but it would not matter against the TP.

Few years ago I had a nasty Cobra that would drive around the bikes around here… nothing better than giving them the hit and then putting a gap between you… with the top down.

My hellcat will beat my tuned hayabusa in a drag race 1/4 mile. A roll race that is a different story. These busas like 150 plus. The busa is amazing 100+ it'll take the wind out of you. Edit- I see they did a roll race. I wish I could see the gauge cluster on the busa. Also the brand new busa is slightly less HP for some reason. I'm guessing for emissions but idk.
Also that guy may be a professional bike rider but he did not know that bike very well and drag racing on a bike is a lot different than turning on a track.

Yes it matters, when the Plaid weighs 4500 lbs. with 1050 hp.
Our cars weigh that much now, then you add the weight of the battery.
The future Tesla will be in the 8's easy.
