Anyone using these? They are advertised as plug n play. Just curious on how involved the installation is. Thanks

Wouldn't count on it actually being 'plug & play'

Tools required for installation*

Wire cutter (for sure)
Wire crimper (maybe it depends on the vehicle) Screwdriver (maybe it depends on the vehicle)

I guess plug n play was a little optimistic but crimpers and a screw driver aren’t too complicated. I guess I’m asking if it’s a pita to access what needs to be spliced into? Getting under the dash can be a serious pita for us older, somewhat portly types.

That I couldn't say. I just wouldn't be keen to cut up my factory wiring to add it. Shock sensors were always hit or miss when I installed alarms (granted, that was over 20 years ago). Since this just activates the factory alarm, there won't be a 2 stage trigger (warning chirps for smaller vibrations, full alarm for harder hits), so once you have it adjusted to be sensitive enough to detect a blow to the car, it'll probably be triggered by every passing car or bike with a loud exhaust. YMMV.

I was wondering about that.

Don't these cars already have an impact sensor as part of the alarm system? Some cheapo "tear up your harness" add on would not be the way I would go. Love the "we have a youtube video that shows you how to do it!"

I tried watching a couple of their videos for a Jeep and Challenger 'install' videos and it showed absolutely nothing besides 'look, I hit the car and now the alarm goes off'.

Agreed. Vids are crap.
