Hmm, and here I'm searching for an Audi Q8...to replace a Q5 with some 3,000 miles on it.
Then again, it's my job to find whatever vehicle my girlfriend can't live without.

Inflation is an excuse, like covid and other things for all kinds of profit taking. They both caused problems, and both raised prices, but dealers and corporations who did not need covid assistance also used it and inflation as an excuse to gouge.

2022 Inflation is not the norm though, AND I got mine for $12K off sticker. People today are paying $10K over for most from what I'm reading.

Like I said, I could see 10% or even 18% with normal negotiating involved, but we're talking about 30%+ vs what I paid for mine.
What dealers are asking and what Dodge is doing is enough to push me into a 15 or 16 and build what I want.
My problem then turns into why not go farther and just grab a Scat Pack.

My problem then turns into why not go farther and just grab a Scat Pack.
Our 21 Scat Pack was almost as much as our 18 Hellcat. 3 years?

Until people stop buying shit, it will continue.
My employer has had 4 or 5 price increases in the last 18 months. Normally, it happens on January 1.
But many of our vendors are doing the same thing.
When does it end? When people stop buying stuff. Dealers have to be salivating right now but if the market turns quickly, they could be sitting on these models for a while.

I usually saw maybe 3 a year from suppliers. All of a sudden it turned monthly, or even more often. Got do bad I put a file together to show customers we were not gouging.
