Thanks for your reply. One video I watched said 1200 psi. Another said 2000 psi. 1200 strikes me a being too low. 2000 hurts too much with a bad knee. Will try your approach this evening at Irwindale raceway in SoCal. Thanks again.

For completely different reasons, I'm actually in for responses from a variety of people, so lets keep this thread going.

Anything over 1400 works well for me.
One tip: use your index finger on the button and place it carefully so you don't touch any other buttons when you push. The line loc will deactivate if you push any of the other buttons at the same time and for me that's really easy to do when using my thumb.

My thoughts are that you pump the brake until it’s firm and hold it until you apply the line lock. I do that and stand on it for that moment before I push the button. I don’t know what actual line pressure that is but it’s as much as I can get. Anything less than max line pressure results in less than a lock up and the car can roll forward at the start of the burnout. I’m using a Hurst Roll Control but I imagine as far as line pressure goes they are the same.

What's the high end of what you've used?

1600 or so, anything past that feels like I'm pushing the pedal way too hard.

Worth noting, I've used 1400 w both the 6 piston stuff as well as the 4 piston stuff. As far as sitting still goes both feel the same.

So for those that "know" my background motive, here's some more insight.

Try and determine what is the maximum pressure that can be generated by a human in the brake system (which translates to a caliper crush force), either by documentation, or experimentation, and you'll get wildly different answers, and opinions.

The "lowest-maximum" pressure that I could determine from documentation was 3000psi, however I haven't been able to find or see this in the real world.

We've been using 3000psi as our baseline for design, but damn if I can find an example of it.

How are you going to measure that?

Pump the brakes a few times first and then you shouldn’t have to push hard at all for line lock

It tells you pedal pressure? Sounds like a useless metric to me lol
