Fun read. Thanks for the reference.

I've never heard of Motorious. They're on my reading list now.

Love it David. Thanks for posting. The summary was beautiful....

“So do as you’re told and like, nay love, the upcoming crop of Mopar muscle cars or you’ll be labeled a bad person until the next social media trend makes everyone forget about this until their engine magically blows up.”

Where have we seen this, on this Forum and definitely in the old ‘hood right now?

We may have to buy a few more before they go away?

I guess it could be a reasonable replacement to the 392...as long as it lasts and is reliable. 150K miles on an American owned vehicle is not uncommon any more.

What a shame. I still don't understand why the V8 can't still be offered for those of us wanting it, even if it means paying some kind of carbon credit, gas guzzler, non-progressive, old school, whatever tax. I'd pay it.

You can put lipstick on a pig and it's still.......

I'll just keep my first year Hellcat and Redeye and buy another ICE Mopar real soon. It will get maybe 8 mpg so I guess I'm a really bad person. :)

Because it's not about what we want, it's about what they want.

We already do pay a gas guzzler tax, I dont think we'd want to pay it when it went up super high to make up for the extremely low production that would ensue. Not to mention the logistics of building these with entirely non interchanging drivetrains. To a certain degree these cars are currently all plug n play with the different drivetrains.

Everything has already been created for these cars and they have paid for themselves time and time again.

Ford has gone to great lengths to sell the 3.5TT
I saw somewhere it makes up 60% of their sales. However, you can only get that engine in the Raptor, Tremor, and Limited. The 3 highest models of F150.

So right off the top, they limit where you can get the 5.0L. Then on the other end of trims, the XL trim you can get it but with a 3.15 rear end in 2wd. Other options available with 4x4 single cab but now we are talking about a 40k truck.

I think they will hold onto the Hemis as long as they can. But this is the slow move toward hybrid and full EV.

This engine sounds like it has potential, but if they pull a GM and lock it down, then I feel they will kill all the goodwill they have built up since the Hellcat launched back in 2014.

Yep. Wouldnt change the government sticking to the guzzler tax which would undoubtedly go way up if in theory they were able to keep making the V-8 somehow. Or the fact that it would be almost impossible to integrate EV and ICE drivetrains on the same assembly line unless it's easier than I'm thinking.

Easier to build a new plant and abandon it in 2 years. Why not. We are paying for it. Every body else is sticking their damn hands in our dill pickle jar.

I'm not a conformist, so these things are hard for me. Guess I'll go back to building what I want if I have to.

There are only a few of us Lions left and they know it. The sheep will fall in line as they were raised and educated to do.

Time for E.V. drivers to pay a “Gas Meiser” tax for driving all the roads essentially for free right now.

Want last long. They get sucked into the stupidity of the government's wants and wishes. They will pay dearly. I am a die na snore and I will die with a gas guzzler. Sorry kids, but you are going to get screwed.

Watch those electricity rates and the yearly tag fee. It is going to be ugly. When has a gov mandate ever worked?? The only one I can think of was the unleaded gas. That could and should have happened sooner. Now, lets shoot this damn oak tree.
