⚡️Ford Motor Company ‘Becoming a National Security Threat’ After Partnering With Chinese owned, CATL

🔘Ford Motor Company faced heavy criticism after announcing its plans to move forward with its partnership with a Chinese company for the production of car batteries, centering the move in Michigan.

🔘Production will begin in 2026.

🔘The push to save money using cheaper materials comes as Ford lost billions of dollars due to poor investments and quality, leading to recalls.

🔘News of the traditionally American-made company collaborating with the Chinese Contemporary Amperex Technology (CATL) produced criticism from United States leaders. CATL is on the portfolio, of Chinese state-owned private equity firm Bohai Harvest RST, 10% of which is tied to Joe Biden’s son Hunter Biden.

🔘Governor Glenn Youngkin (R-VA) removed his state from consideration of the $3.5 billion battery plant, calling the car company a “Trojan horse.”

🔘“I look forward to bringing a great company there,” said Youngkin. “It won’t be one that uses kind of a Trojan-horse relationship with the Chinese Communist Party in order to gain.”

🔘Ford’s battery plan drew the attention of congressional leaders as well, with one source close to Republican leadership saying, “The closer Ford gets to the Chinese communists, the closer we’re going to look at their business.”

🔘“We’re quickly approaching the point where Ford’s business practices are becoming a national security threat,” they added.

🔘Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Florida, is asking the Biden administration to investigate Ford Motor Co.'s plans to build a $3.5 billion battery plant in Marshall and to withhold any federal aid that may benefit the Chinese company it is licensing technology from.

Ford will own and operate the recently-announced plant, which is expected to come online in 2026 and build lithium iron phosphate batteries for the automaker's electric vehicles. But the battery cell technology will be licensed from Contemporary Amperex Technology Co. Ltd., or CATL, which is based in China and is the world's leading EV battery maker.

We're going to run out of brands to buy. Ram keeps getting recalls.

Same recall twice. It might catch on fire, don't park in your garage. They already checked it.

whitless mentioned trying to bring it in when she was running for re-election. I know residence in Marshall are against it but may not matter.

You know Witchmer is more concerned about being able to boast about a new battery plant than national security. She’s probably on the CCP’s bankroll too.

I bought a 56 Ford to drive to a concert because my Challenger was broke in high school.

I then split the cost with 3 of my buddies and we took it out in the snow and absolutely demolished it. Left it in a sand pit. The previous owner was pissed because he thought that I was going to keep it...

Overpaying for a vehicle doesn't mean it's any good.
