I know Florida stopped doing smog inspections in 2000. (That POS would have failed).

I think state inspections stopped in the early 80's, so I've seen cars with no hoods, doors, bungee cords holding things on.

Now, I believe Florida Highway Patrol can stop you for a roadside spot inspection and can ticket you with an equipment violation and/or impound vehicle if it's clearly missing required equipment or is deemed outright unsafe.

Passenger:
My ankles are itchy and burning...

Driver:
Oh, that? It's just a little battery acid that spilled last week when I tipped this thing on its side.

Now, now, it's probably just a work in progress....
My kid started in on a Toyota flatbed one time and thank god it never made it to the running stage.
The "Foyota" had ford running gear and I believe it was a 429? engine.
They had the running gear and the engine installed when they figured out they were going to have to severely modify the frame if this engine was going to have exhaust of any kind.
I think a girl must have walked past and they abandoned the project.

He may want to give his seat belt a second thought with his kneecaps 3 inches from the dash in that death trap

At least put a box around that battery! If he gets T-boned in the pass side, they'll be battery acid flying everywhere...not good.

Probably worth more than the car.
That's usually how it works. Either the stereo or rims are worth more than the vehicle itself.

Low insurance. Believe this. I was behind a Lambo at an inspection station in Fl. The Lambo failed cause the driver could not see out of the back wind shield.

It would seem to me...annual vehicle inspections would be a matter of public safety...bald tires..no brakes...yeah that's who I want behind me at freeway speeds

lol, modify the frame to have any kind of exhaust. No problem, man. Just run open headers or 2 inch risers. lol
