I have mild mods to my 16 challenger. 2.85 pulley injectors etc.
Anyway it's tuned by a guy my son likes.

I'm not really happy with the tune. It makes some smoke when I get on it.

So my question is. Can a person pull the custom tune out and put the factory tune back in. Then have a tune from a different guy installed without having any tune conflicts?

I think I'd be happier with a ost or Dusterhuaff tune.

You don't need to put the factory tune back in necessarily, if you have a a copy of your factory tune file and you are staying with the same tuning software you can send the copy of the stock file to your new tuner of choice, they will modify it and you can flash it in the car without issue.

If you are changing platforms from Diablo to HP Tuners for example, your new tuner would probably require you to flash the car back to stock and then read the stock file on the new tuning platform (HP or Diablo) and send back to new tuner before they modify the file. The new tuner will guide you thru the process. It your using HP Tuners it's a very simple process.

With HPT I believe It's possible For a Tuner to tweak the tune you have.

Tuners can lock their tunes. So another tuner won’t have access to view or edit the tune. I’d recommend you try to get your stock file and go off that.

If you are HPtuners, go with Satera tuning out of Illinois. One of the best around.

Satera is recommended by BBP. I think you need to get your ecm unlocked again for the hp tuners. They use different ports for tuning for tuning compared to Diablo.

2018 up need to be unlocked again when changing tuning platforms but 15-17 do not.

Very useful. I did not know that as the tuners told me before I got her unlocked to make a choice. Mine is a 16.

Most tuners would most likely prefer to start from stock vs another tune when/if possible

But yes you can flash over whats there now either back to stock or with the new tune. The stock tune will not be a good idea to run on with your injectors and upper pulley

I have a 2016 that was originally tuned with Diablo.( nightmare ) I moved to another tuner who used HPT and did not have to unlock it again .

I haven't heard much about Satera. I have heard a lot about Mike@ost and Dustethauff tuning
