An good question. We used volume 31 with my friend's iPhone connecting wirelessly with the Led Zeppelin song. This was loud, but probably a lot of people would have it there for a song or three (not me). The song was Fool in the Rain, which has a three beat thumping bass line rift.

While Fool in the Rain was playing at volume 31 I selected radio, and the volume shot up to ear-splitting.

That was when the trunk crashed to the ground and all four tires deflated. Well, almost...

Slap in a Madonna or Lady Gaga tune and listen to the bass. Some of those songs blast bass big time.

Agree after that fix/upgrade like in ‘16, I drove it home, had it so loud it made my ears hurt. Never needed it tested again both in the ‘15 and of course my ‘19 RE. Also, everyone needs to understand how limited sat radio lacks lows and highs too. That input source sounds awful.

Went out today and listened to the FM radio and played with EQ. I turned the bass down to four bars below zero, and mid and treble up two. I could get songs a bit louder than I'd want to listen - and I did not hear the delay effect I'd heard before. It sounded pretty darn good!

My conclusion is the Kilmat did dampen the vibration of the trunk enclosure enough to "fix" my problem.

Katy Perry...yes, she's pretty awesome.
