That is why I love this dang forum!! @greasy killed it. Thank you brother!!! I will take some pictures of the concrete and post them.

Btw, my house is 22 years old and HOPE to pray I have 4" concreate. But we will drill and verify today.
I can’t see it not being at least 4” by code, but some builders can be shady.

Just drilled the concreate....it is +4" <thank God> lol

So which 2 post lift do you recommend @greasy? We have 113" ceilings.

Thank you again for all your advice!

Awesome man. I can’t recommend a 2 post lift because I have no experience there. I would definitely get the 3/4” x 4-1/4” Screw Bolts, assuming that’s the size of the holes on the mounting points for the lift. If you need help getting shoot me a PM and I can help. Good luck!

you don`t have enough height for beam across the top style, but the style with the floor plate on the floor works good as well. mine is a (direct lift) 13 years old now . still very happy with it an I use it a lot.

Correct. You need 15' for a top beam.

Models with the beam on top have a 1K-2K higher weight rating because the posts twist while the cars go up. The top beam stops this. This is what Bend-Pak told me.

None of these are single post lifts.... Didn't find very many failures of single posts. Don't know if that is bc there aren't many of them, or because they don't fail very often. Seems to me the opportunity for folks to be stupid with them is so great that if they did fail regularly it would be readily backed up with video and news stories.

I have two lifts..a two post..and a single post..and a car is stored all winter long on top of both of them..aside from the manufacture's mechanical stops...my machinist fabricated supplemental stops as well...safety is a big issue with me...@ 17 my neighbor (a shade tree mechanic) was crushed to death by a car that rolled off the rusted jack stands he was using...I remember his wife's shrieks like it was yesterday...

Can't store cars like you do in CA. Earthquakeso_O Sorry about your friend. I had a new employee a few years ago and watched him raise a Dodge van. When it got to the top, it fell off. He disappeared for a minute and I almost had a heart attack. Then I saw him. I ran out and asked him if he was ok. He was laughing and said ya, I'm fine. I then fired him.

A friend of mine had five sports cars in his 2-car garage, two of them on side post lifts. And yes, in CA.
I never even wanted a lift when I lived there.

I'm used to it since I've been here since 1960. It was pretty nice back then, then is slowly started to go to shit. To old to move and I hate snow.

Cold and snow doesn't bother me..(as long as we don't get buried)...in WNY (Buffalo)...you can get from one end of the city to the other in 30 min or less...even in rush hour traffic...

In houston, at the end, when I was driving from out west to the med center, it took me an hour and half each way. It will kill you.
